The Ærø Ferry

Fyn is in the centre of Denmark and linked by bridges to Jutland and Zealand. The E20 Motorway runs right across the island.

There is an excellent bus service between towns and efficient trains between Nyborg - Odense - Middelfart and Odense - Svendborg. All the Intercity trains between Copenhagen and Jutland stop in Odense, and many of them also stop at Nyborg and Middelfart. There is a direct rail connection from Odense to Kastrup Airport (Copenhagen). The journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes. www.rejseplanen.dk.
 
There are also bridges from Fyn to the islands of Thurø, Tåsinge and Langeland.
 
In addition there are dozens of ferry connections to the numerous islands and islets in the South Fyn Archipelago, as well as Als in southern Jutland and Tårs on Zealand.
 
Billund, which has an international airport, is just103 km from Odense, and Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) just 164 km.
 
You can take your bicycle with you over the Great Belt Bridge, either by bus or train, although this requires a reservation.
 
The opening of the bridge across the Øresund to Sweden has made Fyn ever more central. There are now high-speed connections to Fyn from all over Sweden.

Even though Fyn is closely linked to its surroundings by its numerous bridges, ferries still run on the Little Belt and in the South Fyn Archipelago.
