Middelfart
Middelfart: Fishing, ferry traffic and fortifications have been typical for this city throughout its history. The town was granted a charter as market town during the Middle Ages and had its golden age as the custom house on the Little Belt until this task was taken over by Fredericia at the end of the 17th century.
Despite this, the town continued to have certain importance. Today it is a modern commercial town with a number of listed old buildings. The military importance of the Middelfart-Fredericia area is evident from the approx. 70 fortifications along the Little Belt in the vicinity of the two towns.

Røjle klint
This route takes you out through Strib to the Røjle peninsula, an area of particular geological interest. Its form was created in the last ice age by the retreat of the north-east ice and the subsequent melt water. The whole peninsula now has almost the shape of a large dome. The cliffs of Røjle Klint rise 40 metres above the sea and stretch for about 8 km. From many vantage points there are fantastic views out across the sea and of the coast of Jutland. This extensive conservation area includes many different types of countryside. Large sections of the cliff are wooded, with fully conserved species of orchids covering the woodland floor. The western part of the peninsula is an area of marshland, bordered on the Little Belt by an impressive beach ridge. From time to time sections of the cliff face plunge into the sea. This occurs because the cliff is made of plastic clay which, when saturated, cannot maintain its structure. A folder is available on the Røjle peninsula. It gives a good explanation of the local geology and contains maps of nature trails.
Using Katrinebjergvej it is possible to reach the highest point of Røjle Klint, 71 metres above sea level. The trip continues through Kasmose Wood to Vejlby Fed, an isthmus where the flat salt meadows form a stark contrast to Røjle Klint. At Båring Strand beach you can cycle through the wood to an inviting recreational area where sheer cliff faces once more dominate access to the sea.

Varbjerg Strand
Route 30: Varbjerg Strand - BogenseThe Storå river meets the sea at Varbjerg Strand. It follows the road for a short while and there are gangways across this broad, reed-clad river from the summer cottages. At the estuary there is an idyllic small harbour.
Bro and Skåstrup are examples of housing that has managed to escape village development during the last few decades and retain its original street layout and several of its traditional buildings.

Bogense
The last section of the route taking you to Bogense passes reclaimed land near Fogense. The dike forms a boundary with the coast, with the land behind the dike below sea level at various points and consisting of salt meadows and reed swamps.
There are a number of old houses well worth seeing in BOGENSE the smallest market town on Fyn. The medieval market square is flanked by small trees and squat houses with picturesque facades. The small "Manneken Pis" statue is a copy of the Brussels landmark, presented to the town by a local inhabitant who was an orphan himself.
