Nyborg
From Nyborg you can go along the beach past the Hotel Nyborg Strand, one of the leading course and conference centres in Denmark, and on to the woods at Teglværkskoven, where several paths lead down to the coast. The municipal building Strandhøj has large and attractive grounds open to the public.
You turn inland at the holiday home area of Skaboeshuse, but return to the Great Belt once more at Nordenhuse, an old fishing hamlet. In former days the fishermen used to heave their vessels up onto the beach by means of a winch, which can still be seen today. The lovingly decorated old summer cottages 'en miniature' are typical of the region.

Risinge & Lundsgård Klint
After Nordenhuse, cycle to Risinge via Bovense. Risinge Manor is an 18th century building with a distinctive architectural style. The main building has a thatched roof, in the middle of which there is a square tower that has a pyramid-shaped roof.
Just before you come to Kerteminde you cycle through the large woods of Storskoven. From the lay-by there is access to the cliffs of Lundsgård Klint, which are more than 900 metres long, and which - on a clear day - offer you a view of the coast of Zealand. There is a fine area of woodland behind the cliffs which is ideal for walks. During the summer months there are many interesting species of birds in the wood, such as oriole and redbacked shrike. In the heart of the wood lies 'Jomfruhøjen' (The Maidens' Barrow), a fine example of medieval castle site. The following legend is told about the spot: Three beautiful maidens were betrothed to three knights, but were also wooed by three new suitors. Since the knights had gone off to the wars they had no means of protecting themselves from the new suitors, so they fled to the mound in the wood. When the suitors discovered their hiding place the three maidens decided to take their own lives.

Lundsgård
At the point where you leave the wood the manor house of Lundsgård lies before you. Through the years it has been flooded on a number of occasions. This led to the breakwaters on the Great Belt coast being strengthened. The present-day main building is from 1765 and in the Rococo style. A small woodland road takes you round the estate, past the farm buildings that are of a much later date.
Kerteminde
Fjord&Bælt, KertemindeKerteminde was formerly the most important harbour town on Fyn and the fishing harbour still plays a vital role in the life of the town. The statue of the fisherman’s daughter, also known as "Amanda", stands at the bridge of Langebro and is the town’s most famous landmark.
In its narrow streets there are quite a number of old houses, the museum being housed in one of them, dating from the 17th century. Fiskergade is a fine example of a street that has picturesque, imaginative facades.
The town also boasts a museum for the painter Johs. Larsen, who is known especially for his paintings of birds, as well as the Fjord&Bælt, which researches and displays information about the marine environment at Kertinge Nor, Kertminde Fjord and Bay and the Great Belt. A 50-metre tunnel allows you to study the flora and fauna of the Great Belt under water. There is also a large outdoor pool with seals.
