Landlubbers and seadogs alike will realise that Fyn has a distinctive maritime atmosphere and can offer a lot of things to do, both on and below the waterline.

In addition, Fyn is surrounded by 90 islands and islets, of which 25 are inhabited. These islands are very peaceful and beautiful, and each has its own distinctive history and traditions. As just one example, on Ærø, they put up two maypoles during the wild Whitsun festivities.

Anyone who loves the sea, especially families with children, will really appreciate the safe beaches with their stretches of white sand and clean water. The inhabitants themselves love to go to the beaches at Kerteminde, Nyborg and Ristinge (on Langeland) on a hot summer's day. Here you can windsurf, snorkel or dive.
