Valdemars Castle
On the island of Taasinge, which is linked to Fyn by a bridge, stands the beautiful Valdemars Slot – one of the largest and most comprehensive manor-house museums in Denmark. A guided tour of the building, where more than 21 rooms are open to the public – is a truly fascinating experience. The rooms are all furnished as they were in the olden days, with art and antiques dating back to the age of Niels Juel, and the old manor kitchen is packed with copper utensils.
Lunch can be arranged in the castle restaurant before the tour continues on through the magnificent countryside of Fyn. For example, on the way to or from Valdemars Slot, you will pass through the idyllic town of Troense with its beautifully preserved houses and verdant gardens.

If you would like an excursion with a difference, you can sail from Svendborg on the charming ferry Helge, which sails around the South Fyn Archipelago throughout the summer months – a wonderful and different way to see Fyn. You can also choose to rent a wooden boat and sail the waters of the beautiful Svendborg Sound. The ferry or the sailing boat can moor at the little jetty by Valdemars Slot – which means the coach can collect the entire group after a visit to the manor house itself.
