On the Golden Age Tour you not only get to visit Sealand and Fyn, but you also travel in the style of the time.
Day 1:
Arrival and checking in at a hotel in Copenhagen.
The guide welcomes us and explains the programme for the coming days as well as giving an introduction to the writer.

Breakfast and checking out.
A coach meets us at the hotel and drives to West Zealand, where the day includes a visit to Sørø Academy. T
he day is a pleasant mixture of museum visits, fairy-tale and novel readings, as well as an artistic element.

Day 3:
Breakfast and checking out. We continue on Zealand in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen to Slagelse, where he went to school. We visit Holsteinborg, where he was a frequent guest and wrote many of his stories. You can see the rooms where he stayed, which have been kept unaltered.
From Zealand we sail on an old wooden ship to Fyn. The crossing is spent enjoying the view and listening to accounts of the author’s travels and his attitude to forms of transport. A delicious lunch will be served on board.

After arrival at Nyborg, the coach drives to one of the castles on Fyn, where, after checking in, we enjoy an “authentic” Hans Christian Andersen menu.
There will also be stories about the author – this time with the focus on the letters he exchanged with female friends.

Breakfast and checking out.
A different type of transport – stage coach and landaus – are waiting to drive us to one of the other castles where Hans Christian Andersen was a frequent guest.
We walk around the grounds while the guide gives a talk, and after the visit we head for Odense for lunch, a guided tour of the Hans Christian Andersen Museum and a city tour in the footsteps of the author. [/size]

The morning is free, although there is an option of a guided tour.
After lunch we return to Copenhagen and a sightseeing bus tour. This takes us past the Court Theatre, which Hans Christian Andersen often attended.
