Kayak Tours

Links
The waters of the South Fyn Archipelago are some of the best in Denmark for sea kayaking, and this area of outstanding natural beauty has a great deal to offer.

We recommend the following sea kayak tours:

Round Thurø (approx. 15 km)

Billede
Round Thurø is a short day trip which takes you close to both country and town. The stretch along Thurø Reef is very special. Most kayakers can manage this trip, although if there is a strong easterly wind the trip can be trickier and require good technique.

Helnæs Bay (approx. 35 km)

Helnæs Bay is a lovely and tranquil area, sheltered from winds from almost any direction. Ideal for novices, the trip takes 1-2 days, according to mood and tempo.

Round Tåsinge (approx. 45 km)

Billede
Round Tåsinge is a trip which offers a great variety of scenery. You will see the flocks of resting birds, esepcially to the south of Tåsinge. Please do not paddle through the middle of these flocks, but skirt them (see more on the Archipelago map). In calm weather, most kayakers can manage this trip, but keep in mind the current in Svendborg Sound, which is strongest in the sailing channel. The trip can be done in one day, or taken at a more leisurely pace over two.

The South-east Route (approx. 75 km)

This route concentrates on the south-eastern section of the Archipelago and takes you close to its areas with most birdlife, and so also the most vulnerable areas. The trip offers beautiful sights, but also means that you are expected to conduct yourself with the greatest respect for the natural assets. It is essential that you pay attention to the vulnerable protected areas (see more on the Archipelago map) and do not go too close to the numerous uninhabited islands and islets between 1 March and 15 July. The trip normally takes 3-4 days. You need to be an experienced kayaker for this trip.

Island Tour (approx. 100 km)

Billede
On this trip you can visit all the bigger islands in the South Fyn Archipelago. As well as the fantastic nature, you will come close to the local island communities. You must show consideration for the vulnerable and protected areas (see more on the Archipelago map). The full trip, visitng most of the islands, takes 5-6 days. You need to be an experienced kayaker for this trip.
