The four seasons

Even though the leaves may be falling from the trees, there is no reason to forget about the caravan or RV. Many of the campsites on Fyn are open all year round, and all four seasons have their own particular delights.

Wonderful seasons

The vast majority of people choose to go camping in the summer. With good reason, campers with tents prefer this season on account of the weather. However, camping in caravans, RVs or cabins can be enjoyed all year round. So there is no reason not to extend the season as long as you have the right equipment. After all, your caravan and equipment are already bought and paid for, so now it is simply a matter of enjoying them.

Winter, spring and autumn have their own special charms. Many people put their caravans on a spring or autumn site – also known as seasonal sites – and use them as holiday houses. The only difference is that there is little maintenance or cleaning to do. Very often, you can also set up camp in a delightful location where an actual holiday house would have cost more money than would want to spend. Another advantage is that you can “break camp” from year to year or season to season.

Winter camping is becoming increasingly popular in step with the developing design of modern caravans and RVs. The new models are well-insulated and feature central heating or other heating solutions. The sometimes demanding weather conditions in winter are no obstacle as long as the equipment is in order, and this opens up a whole range of new holiday options. Christmas and the New Year are festivals where families have plenty of time, and those who have tried it, say that there is something very special about celebrating Christmas in a caravan. However, please note that some sites require you to book in advance.

When the flowers start to bloom

Spring camping has become very popular with active campers, because at the same time as the new life starts to bloom, the camping community starts to awaken from its “hibernation” and everyone wants to come out and enjoy the fresh spring air. Spring is synonymous with new beginnings, with signs of new life appearing everywhere: at campsites, in towns and in the countryside. It is impossible not to feel good. For most campsites that are closed in the winter month, Easter marks the start of the new season.

When the beach calls

Summer camping is the preferred option for most people, which is hardly surprising. This is the season for enjoying each other’s company, and meeting up with friends. There are plenty of people at the campsites, no matter where you go. Liveliness, enjoyment and a holiday mood are the order of the day. The birds are singing, and scents from barbecues fill the air. Children make new friends every day. At the large sites, there are activities for all ages, while the smaller sites offer a gentler pace. But wherever you go, you will find people relaxing and having fun.

Autumn camping is the season for thick sweaters and warm boots. What could be better than a stroll along the beach on a clear September day, or a walk in the woods to pick mushrooms for dinner? Autumn is also perfect for cosy days in a caravan, reading a good book while sipping a mug of hot cocoa. What does it matter if the weather outside is rough and unruly? That is all part of the charm.
