Landet Kirkegård

The Danish circus princess Elvira Madigan alias Hedvig Jensen fled in 1889 from Stockholm to Svendborg with her lover - the Swedish dragoon lieutenant Sixten Sparre. They were not allowed to be together as the lieutenant was already married. Therefore they chose death together in Nørreskoven near Valdemars Castle and lie buried in Landet Churchyard.
