Short tour on Strynø with Langelands Stivenner

11/10 11:00: Langelands Sti-venner goes on an excursion in UNSCO Global Geopark Det Sydfynske Øhav with 6 km hike on Strynø

Hiking on Strynø

On Friday 11 October at 11 am (registration is mandatory and arrive in good time, parking can be tight), we take the ferry to Strynø and walk across the island to the mill - and back - 6 km at a leisurely pace. We take the ferry back home at 15.20, arriving in Rudkøbing at 15.55.

Programme: We first walk up to the island's fine, newly built grocery store and Majtræs Square and continue to Strynø Mill, where we eat our packed lunch - bring your own food and drink.

On the way back, we walk south along a narrow path, then follow Kærvej and Postens Sti to Øhavets Smakke- og Naturcenter, where Lise Thillemann Sørensen, head of the secretariat for the Association of Danish Small Islands, tells us about the association and some selected walks on Danish small islands. Maybe Bodil has baked a cake? But you bring your own coffee!

The ferry ticket costs DKK 60 return for Longelanders, DKK 90 for everyone else (the price has dropped from DKK 70/100 since we booked the tickets). We have reserved 35 tickets, and registration on a first-come, first-served basis is required; send an email to Jette, purup@tdcadsl.dk no later than 4 October if you want to join us. We'll send you an invoice at the beginning of October.

Meeting point: Strynø ferry berth, Rudkøbing Ferry Harbour, Havnepladsen 1, 5900 Rudkøbing.
Tour leaders: Bodil Skriver, Jette Purup and Ingvard Hansen
