The exhibition is a contemporary artistic and ethnographic photo documentary on landscapes and people living in the South Funen Islands. The documentary creates a portrait of the South Funen agricultural and fishing culture, focusing on what has survived urbanization: the traditional architecture, the cultural landscape and the people in their everyday surroundings.
Italian photographer Luca Berti is inspired by Achton Friis, who went on an expedition to the Danish islands in the 1920s, and who published the book "The Danish Islands".
To get right into the footsteps of Achton Friis, Luca Berti has chosen to take all his photographs with an analog camera, and all the photographs have been developed on plates in his darkroom.
