Ticket | The Museum of Johannes Larsen

In 1901, Johannes and Alhed Larsen, both of them painters, built their house on Møllebakken in Kerteminde, thereby creating not only an artistic framework for their home together, but also a hospitable gathering place for artist, writers and sculptors.
Their home and garden have been preserved in their original form and the modern exhibition buildings offer a large art collection and changing exhibitions.

The Johannes Larsen Museum

In the early years of this century Johannes Larsen, painter and millowner, created his own paradise at Møllebakken in Kerteminde. The old mill still turns, the many beautiful, rare trees of the park still blossom each spring, the view of Kerteminde and the great Belt is as lovely now as it was then - and all of this can be enjoyed by all those who visit Møllebakken.
