Culinary Market

Every year, on the last weekend of June, Svendborg hosts Culinary South Funen, a food market that fills the entire city center with the best in slow food, organic produce, and local products. There are plenty of tastings and passionate exhibitors who are happy to share the story behind their products.

A portion of the goods at the market is produced on the small, southern Funen islands and in the local area. The residents of the small islands have long realized that they must focus on quality and the special local characteristics. Today, they produce delicacies ranging from honey, apple juice, chocolate, and ice cream to meat, sausages, oil, seasoned salt, and beer. You can taste that there are people, not machines, behind it, and it fits perfectly into a food market in Svendborg, which, as the first city in Denmark, has been designated as a Cittaslow city. A city where there is time for quality and space to live the good life.
