Destination Fyn is certified by the ‘Green Tourism Organization’. This is an environmental certification for tourism organizations that go the extra mile in promoting sustainability and responsible tourism.
Green Tourism Organization is a tool for working with sustainable tourism. It was created by HORESTA and the Friluftsrådet to support and recognize tourism destinations and organizations that go the extra mile in promoting sustainability.
To earn the certification, Destination Fyn has been evaluated against 140 criteria, including requirements for management-level prioritization of environmental concerns, sustainable procurement, and the organization’s internal consumption of electricity, water, and heating. There is also a strong focus on how we work to develop sustainable tourism across the destination
