Meet Maja
Maja works with content marketing – translating experiences from Funen and the Islands into digital content that inspires international guests. She is therefore focused on how great stories and experiences can be transformed into content that both inspires and makes sense for the target audiences – and that at the same time aligns with the destination’s brand and strategic direction.

Maja works with
Maja’s primary task is to promote Funen and the Islands through content based on the target audiences’ preferences, trends, and the overall range of experiences at the destination.

She works broadly with both idea development, coordination, and production – she is typically involved from the initial thoughts of a campaign to the final content. It is Maja who ensures that it is relevant, useful, and coherent across platforms.

In practice, this means that Maja, among other things:

  • develops and qualifies campaign ideas based on target audiences, trends, and “reason to go”
  • translates brand, tone of voice, and strategic directions into concrete content
  • prepares briefs and collaborates with photographers and content creators on the production of text, photos, and video
  • finds, selects, and adapts content from partners such as local tourist offices, actors, member companies, etc.
  • develops and maintains VisitFyn’s social media channels and websites in Danish, English, and German
  • coordinates efforts and ensures coherence in the shared story about Funen and the Islands across channels.

Additionally, Maja is part of Destination Fyn’s work in the Nurturing Nature project, where, in the long term, Destination Fyn will contribute to developing and driving marketing initiatives that highlight regenerative tourism experiences in the Geopark The South Funen Archipelago.

Maja can help with, among other things:

  • sparring on content, stories, and angles: how experiences can be communicated and activated in marketing
  • collaboration on content production and campaigns
  • use of images, video, and content on VisitFyn’s platforms.

Professional experience
Maja comes from a position as a digital communicator in an unemployment insurance fund, with tasks within digital marketing, branding, and communication.

She has previously worked as a student assistant in the former Food Fyn team in Udvikling Fyn, and later became part of Destination Fyn and the Bike Island team, where she supported communication and marketing efforts.

Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, minor in Marketing, Branding, and Communication – University of Southern Denmark
