Søren is a passionate angler with a particular fondness for sea trout from Funen and fly fishing in Arctic regions. He is also an enthusiastic mushroom forager and takes every opportunity to spend time in nature.
Søren is a true stream enthusiast with a deep passion for ecological restoration and freshwater biology. Since 2021, he has been employed as Volunteer Coordinator at Sea Trout Funen (Havørred Fyn), where he leads and supports volunteer efforts aimed at restoring healthy aquatic environments across Funen, Langeland, and Ærø.
As the originator of the Gravel Gang (Grusbande) concept, he has developed an innovative model that enables volunteers with a love of nature and watercourses to make meaningful contributions to ecological restoration. He also serves as Project Coordinator for the national Smolt Watch Project (Projekt Smoltvagt), coordinated jointly by Sea Trout Funen, the Danish Sportfishing Association, and Angling Denmark.
With an autodidactic background shaped by hands-on experience and personal passion, Søren has worked with volunteer coordination and stream restoration since 1995.
