Literature by the waves
BØGER & BØLGER brings literature to Bagenkop and creates a unique festival where words and waves meet. On 31 May 2025, you can experience an exciting programme filled with readings, author talks and a musical performance to tie the day together.
Authors with something to say
The festival presents a strong line-up of Danish authors, all with a special connection to Funen or the surrounding islands. On stage you can meet Jesper Wung-Sung, Jesper Bugge Kold, Merete Pryds Helle, Henriette Rostrup, Sara Koch, Johannes Nørregård Frandsen, Leif Davidsen and Heidi Kølle Andersen who dive into everything from historical novels to the art of translation.
Words, insights and a musical finale
The festival ends with an evocative sea shanty sung by mezzo-soprano Andrea Pellegrini, accompanied by Leif Esbensen - a beautiful conclusion to a day filled with words and experiences.
Enjoy the harbour atmosphere
In between the literary events, you can stroll along the harbour, enjoy food from Bagenkop's restaurants and taste local drinks. The roar of the sea and the charm of the harbour town provide the perfect backdrop for a day of literature.
Geopark Days in Geopark Det Sydfynske Øhav
The event is part of Geopark Days, where you can experience outdoor activities, local food and new knowledge about the local natural, cultural and geological history of the UNESCO Global Geopark The South Funen Archipelago.
