Guided tour of Skarø

Join us on a guided walking tour through Skarø's village life and stories – we end at the church and along the way we delve into the island's life, myths and mysteries.

Join us on a sensory journey through Skarø, where we will take a leisurely walk of about 2 km and hear stories about the island's history, houses and people. Why is the church located outside the town? Was there really smuggling here? And what happened to the crew members of the planes that crashed during the war?

We will learn about old hunting and sailing traditions, travelling on ice and the many little stories that have shaped the island. We may also round Skarø's highest point and find out how many named islands and islets there are in Denmark – and in the South Funen Archipelago.

Ask, listen and feel the pulse of the island

The guide will share historical knowledge and stories from the islanders themselves. You are welcome to ask questions along the way – perhaps your curiosity will shape the tour. Come and experience Skarø with new eyes. Free and open to all.

Practical information about the ferry and departure time
