Cycling route: Abreast with the glacier - 32,9 km
Follow the traces of the Ice Age through a landscape shaped by ice, meltwater and time. This cycling route reveals how South Fyn’s hills, valleys and coastline were formed by powerful natural forces.

This cycling route takes you through a landscape shaped during the last Ice Age more than 10,000 years ago. Along the way, you will experience some of South Fyn’s distinctive hills, valleys, lakes and coastal areas, all created by glaciers and meltwater.
The route begins at Egebjerg Mølle, offering panoramic views across Fyn and The South Fyn Archipelago. From here, it is easy to understand how vast ice masses pushed gravel and stones across the landscape, creating the rolling terrain that characterises the area today.
The route continues through the protected Syltemade Valley, which was carved by powerful meltwater flows at the end of the Ice Age. Along the way, cyclists pass several lakes, including Hvidkilde Lake with views of Hvidkilde Manor and the small islands within the lake. Near the coast, the landscape opens towards The South Fyn Archipelago, where many of today's islands were once connected to Fyn before rising sea levels separated them after the Ice Age.
