Ejlby church is a medieval church built around 1200 AD.
It was dedicated to St Ursula, who was said to be a princess who undertook a pilgrimage and was massacred in Cologne by the Huns along with her 11,000 virginal handmaidens. She was a very popular saint in the Middle Ages. The pictures of her and her handmaidens disappeared from the church, and she was no longer recognized as a saint after the Reformation.
