Hiking Trail: Brunebjergstien i Assens

A popular hiking trail starts in Assens and follows Kærum Å out to the Brunebjerg area.

In the Brunebjerg area, you will find a variety of trails. These trails vary in terrain; some wind through hilly landscapes, while others are more level and flat.

Access and Parking

For visitors arriving by car, access is via Fåborgvej near the dog forest. Parking is available on the parking lot/grass strip between the allotment garden district and the dog forest.

Hiking Trail from Assens to Brunebjerg
A popular hiking trail starts in Assens and follows Kærum Å out to the Brunebjerg area. The route takes you through the charming city park, Skovanlægget, which offers playground equipment and petanque courts. After crossing Fåborgvej, the path continues past Assens Stadium. From there, you follow the path along Kærum Å, under the ring road, and out to Brunebjerg. The route continues on the path marked "Towards Melbyskoven".

In the area, there is also a mountain bike track that crosses the walking path in several places.
At Brunebjerg, you will find two shelters with a fire pit and grill grate, a lunch house with benches, table-bench sets, as well as a multi-toilet and water on site. Close by is the dog forest, where dogs can run freely without a leash.
