Kjobing Manor

Discover Kjobing Manor – a cosy bed and breakfast in stately surroundings with atmospheric rooms, art and history in the heart of charming Ærøskøbing.

Stay in the heart of Ærøskøbing

Kjobing Manor bed & breakfast is more than just a place to sleep – it is an experience in itself. Located in the middle of the square in Ærøskøbing, this historic house offers five individually decorated rooms, all with views of either the cobbled town centre or the listed courtyard.

The old manor house was originally built around 1660 by Duke Philip of Glücksborg and was carefully and beautifully restored in 2017/2018. Guests have their own entrance through the historic front door and the red staircase that leads directly up to the charming rooms.

A home for art and stories

Each room is unique, furnished with care and decorated with modern and contemporary Danish art. Two of the house's blue living rooms serve as both living areas and galleries displaying works by Danish artist Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen.

These living rooms also offer space to work, read a book or enjoy a cup of coffee – completely free of charge, as the kitchen offers free coffee, tea and juice. You can prepare your own breakfast, and the facilities make it easy and cosy to start the day at your own pace.

Enjoy the garden and courtyard

In summer, you can enjoy the sun in the green garden or find a spot in the cosy courtyard with tables and chairs. Whether you fancy a quiet moment with a book or a chat over a glass of wine, Kjobing Manor provides the perfect setting for both.

Experiences nearby

When you step outside Kjobing Manor, you are in the heart of Ærøskøbing, with easy access to small galleries, local shops, cosy cafés and, last but not least, the sea, which is never far away on Ærø.

With its well-preserved houses and special atmosphere, the town is an ideal starting point for exploring the rest of the island. The island's many paths and roads lead to cliffs, bathing jetties and hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

How to get here

Take the ferry to the island – a journey where the pace slows down and everyday life becomes a little more distant with every nautical mile. From the ferry terminal, it is a short distance to Ærøskøbing, and Kjobing Manor is centrally located in the town, right next to the square. From here, you can easily get to other parts of the island or simply enjoy life in the square and the courtyard.
