North Langeland and Lohals (30 km)

Let yourself be guided through one of Langeland’s most varied landscapes on this cycling tour, taking you through forests, open fields and idyllic villages rich in historical traces.

Lohals as a starting point

The peaceful harbour town of Lohals is an ideal starting point for the tour, with its carefully preserved harbour environment and tranquil atmosphere. The town is filled with a sense of summer, and the well‑kept villas from the 1920s recall a time when Copenhageners spent their holidays here. Today, Lohals is popular among both sailors and cyclists, and you’ll find good places to eat, cosy activities and unique overnight options such as the floating shelters.

North of the town, you reach the coast and an atmospheric beach before the route turns into Vester Sigtehave – also known as the Troll Forest. Here, old, twisted oak trees stand like small natural sculptures and create a fairytale‑like mood. In the area, you’ll also find Hollænderhuset, a small forest museum that tells the story of the local area.

Villages and manor landscapes

Further southeast, the landscape opens into fields and small villages. Here, you can clearly see traces of the agricultural reforms of the 1700s, when farms were moved out of the villages. Along the way, you pass Store Snøde, a classic Langeland village environment, before the route once again approaches the coast.

At Karskov Beach, the landscape opens towards the Great Belt. This is a perfect place for a break by the clear water while enjoying the view of the sloping beech forest that reaches all the way down to the shore – one of North Langeland’s most atmospheric spots.

Back towards Lohals

In the southern part of the route, you pass the area around Nedergård and continue through a peaceful cultural landscape of fields, small roads and scattered houses. Soon, you reach Stoense with its beautiful medieval church, before the route continues through open countryside and small forest patches.

Finally, you return to Lohals after a varied and scenic cycling tour through northern Langeland.

The route can be cycled in both directions, and you choose your own starting point.
