Ove Strømberg - visual artist and sculptor

Experience powerful sculptures and paintings in Gallery 34 - Ove Strømberg's wild and childlike visual universe.

Raw energy and childlike vigour in Gallery 34

Ove Strømberg works in stone, wood and oil painting - often in a tension between chaos and harmony. Childlike and naive expression plays a central role in his works, which contain both subtle hints and violent outbursts. ‘The basics of childhood always find an expression - or a counter expression,’ he says.

Biography

Ove Strømberg (b. 1942) is a visual artist and sculptor with a long and personal journey through form and colour. Trained by both Bagermester Madsen and artist Svend Wiig Hansen, he has moved freely between craft, experimentation and artistic expression.

Ove Strømberg has been active in the North Zealand art scene and later in Vejle, where he mainly worked with large wooden sculptures. Among other things, he participated in the DR documentary The Artist with the Chainsaw, which focussed on his special way of working.
