Shelter: Hjortø
Stay overnight on one of Denmark's least inhabited islands
Hjortø is one of the least inhabited islands in Denmark. It's a true island. You see water on all sides, almost no matter where you stand on the island. There are only 5 permanent residents, but fortunately, there are also quite a few holiday home owners who use the island frequently.
At the island's campsite close to the harbor, you'll find 3 lovely shelters. Nearby, there is also a harbor building with shower and toilet facilities, the possibility to charge your mobile phone, and plenty of fresh water.
At the harbor, the association also operates a small museum where you can get an ice cream during the summer months.
There is no grocery store or inn on the island, so food and other necessities should be brought along.

- Number of shelters: 3
- Number of sleeping places in each shelter: 3*4
- Camping: Additional tents may be pitched. Tents are charged at 30.00 DKK, to be placed in the box at the two shelters or paid via MobilePay 81603.
- Water/shower/toilet: Available in the toilet buildings at the harbor. Please note that they are closed from the end of week 42 until April 1st. During this period, there is no access to water, showers, or toilets.
- Campfire site: Yes. Firewood can be purchased at the harbor.

- Dog: Dogs are allowed if kept on a leash.
