Vestfynske Kunstnere/Hjulmandshuset
Vestfynske Kunstnere is an association of artists working with visual art, ceramics, printmaking, glass, wood and more, expressed in a wide variety of styles.
In addition to their shared passion for art, Vestfynske Kunstnere (West Funen Artists) work to inspire greater interest in art and culture among artists, craftspeople, art societies and anyone with a love for creativity — including through inspiring art talks and lectures.
Throughout the summer season, the association exhibits at Hjulmandshuset (Brovejen 384, 5500 Middelfart). Here you can enjoy changing exhibitions and meet the local artists in person.
This beautiful half-timbered house was built in 1820 and has been home to several families over the years. For a period, it was inhabited by the area’s first wheelwright — which is how the house got its name.
Hjulmandshuset is located close to cafés, restaurants and ice-cream shops along Brovejen, and just a short walk from the Old Lillebælt Bridge.
