Cycle route: Coastal landscapes and villages (30 km)
Discover the coastal and cultural landscape around Humble and Lindelse, with its winding country lanes, manor houses, windmills, stone dykes and views over Lindelse Nor and the Great Belt.

Humble as a starting point
The route begins in Humble (junction 18), where you’ll soon find yourself in the hilly landscape that makes South Langeland so special. Here you can experience some of Langeland’s characteristic ice-age hathills, whilst the route takes you through open fields, small villages and a cultural landscape characterised by the area’s old manor houses.
Lindelse Nor and church
After Kædeby Church, the route takes you through some of the island’s beautiful coastal landscape south of Lindelse Nor. Take a break and enjoy the beautiful view of the inlet – a submerged Ice Age landscape where the hills rise like small islands in the water.
In Lindelse, you’ll pass Lindelse Church (junction 37), one of Langeland’s old medieval churches, and the striking half-timbered vicarage. From here, the route continues past the Hennetved Haver woodland to the village of Hennetved (junction 33), with a well-preserved village setting characterised by a dense cluster of farm labourers’ cottages and smallholdings, as well as a few farms.
Skovsgård, Påø and the coastal landscape to the east
On the eastern part of the route, you pass through the area around Skovsgård Estate. The estate dates back to the late 14th century, and today the area is known for its nature, educational activities and events. From April to October, it’s a great idea to stop off at Skovsgård, where the café serves food made with local produce.
At Påø, you’ll encounter a unique coastal landscape with grazing animals, a beach and views of the water. Here you’ll also find a memorial to Russian and French prisoners of war who drifted ashore on a floating dock on 4 May 1945 and were warmly welcomed by the people of Langeland. On this part of the route, south of junction 22, there is a short gravel section where you may need to push your bike.
Along the way, from junction 41, you can take a short detour to Fodslette, where the church, old school and village pond bring the village together in a lovely historic setting.
The route can be cycled in either direction, and as it follows the cycle network’s junctions, you can easily adapt it with detours or shorter sections depending on your time and preference.
Practical information
The route mainly follows small tarmac roads, but also includes two sections of gravel road and two short sections on the busier north-south main road. At Påø Strand, you will need to walk your bike for approximately 200 metres.
On the route, you will pass the following junctions: 18 - 52 - 99 - 96 - 24 - 37 - 42 - 33 - 22 - 92 - 81 - 41 - 65 - 18.
The cycle route has been drawn up by Langelands Stivenner and its development has been co-funded by the EU.
