Fresh fish with a view over the Lillebælt

At Skrillinge Strand, just outside Middelfart, sits a small fish shop with a view straight out over the Lillebælt. Here, Skrillinge Strand Fisk sells fresh and smoked fish from Danish waters, along with fish dishes. You can sit down with your purchase and watch the ships pass by.

At the counter, you’ll find homemade fishcakes and fish smoked in the shop’s own smokehouse. There are also ready-made fish platters, crispy stjerneskud (a Danish open sandwich with fried fish fillet and prawns) and tapas, so if you want to put together a meal for a trip along the coast or a picnic by the water, you’re well set.

It’s a good pit stop if you’re exploring Naturpark Lillebælt, and it works for a quick lunch as well as takeaway for dinner.
