Soup Day
Taste your way through Suppens Dag in Svendborg, where local restaurateurs compete for the title of best soup of the year. The audience tastes and decides who takes home the Suppesten.
Suppens Dag is organised by Kulinarisk Sydfyn and brings together restaurateurs from Svendborg and the surrounding area for a day of soups and tastings at Rundbuehallen. The participants compete to make the best soup of the year, while the audience takes on the role of both tasters and judges. The soups range from familiar classics to new interpretations using different ingredients, flavours and cooking methods.
Each guest receives a spoon at the entrance and uses it to taste the different soups. Every restaurateur serves a small portion, and after all the soups have been tasted, it is time to choose a favourite. The spoon also serves as the vote and is handed in to the restaurateur whose soup the guest liked best.
At the end of the day, all the spoons are counted. The restaurateur with the most votes receives the Suppesten. To give everyone the opportunity to taste all the soups, guests enter in groups, and each ticket therefore provides admission during a specific time slot.
