Along the route

The Blue Clover Trail in Søndersø is also known as the activity route, because it offers lots of opportunities for fun exercise and play.

The route begins at Søndersø Bypark, where people of all ages can join in. There is outdoor fitness equipment, a giant climbing net, a playground for the youngest children, a skate and scooter track and ball courts. There are also benches where you can catch your breath or enjoy something to eat and drink.

The route follows the paths in Søndersø, so it is a good choice if you want to run or cycle at a faster pace.

Playgrounds and green spaces

In the green area on the path between Nordmarksvej and Sandvad, there are several small playgrounds. There is also a shelter site with room for around 6 people. Anyone can stay overnight here on a first come, first served basis. There is also a fire pit if you fancy spending a little time by the fire. Remember to bring firewood.

Nearby, archaeologists have found the remains of Denmark’s largest Bronze Age cooking pit fields. These are areas with many pits dug into the ground and filled with stones that had been exposed to fire many times. They were probably ritual sites, where people may have made offerings to the gods – so Søndersø was once an important ritual place.

The route also passes several small lakes and lots of green spaces. There are also several playgrounds, which are perfect for a short stop with children.

There are benches in several places along the route. You can also bring a blanket to spread out if you fancy a little break.

If you want to bring tasty sandwiches, snacks and drinks for the trip, there are several grocery shops in Søndersø close to Byparken and by the roundabout at Odensevej.
