Open the map in full screen and plan your cycling trip

When cycling on Fyn and the Islands, you now have a useful tool to explore landscapes, roadside farm shops, castles and manor houses – directly from the saddle. The recreational cycling node network brings together 3,400 kilometres of the best bike‑friendly roads and paths, making it easy to plan your own route.

Along the way, you are guided through beautiful natural landscapes, charming market towns, and past great places to eat, accommodation options and exciting attractions. Simply follow the blue signs between the numbered junctions, which can be found both on the map above and along the route.

How it works

We have gathered a range of suggested cycling routes on Fyn and the Islands that follow the cycling node network in the planner above. Zoom in on the map and click on a route – or plan your own cycling trip by combining the numbered junctions. In the cycle node planner, you can easily save and print your routes or download GPX files to your cycling computer.

Whether you are heading out on a short ride or a longer adventure, all sections of the cycling node network have been selected with a focus on bike‑friendly conditions and high experiential value.

Signposting of the cycling node network will continue towards 2027

You can already experience the cycling node network on Langeland, Ærø, Tåsinge and in Svendborg, where more than 800 kilometres are signposted and ready to use. Over the coming year, the network will be expanded to the rest of Fyn, and the complete cycling node network will be ready in June 2027, making it easy to find the best cycling routes.

The junction-based system on which the cycling node network is built was developed in Belgium in the mid‑1990s as a flexible way to plan cycling trips. The system allows cyclists to combine both short and long routes within a network of bike‑friendly stretches designed for exploration and recreation.

Today, recreational cycling node networks can be found in countries such as Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as parts of Germany and France.

The cycling node network on Fyn and the Islands is funded by the Nordea Foundation and the ten municipalities on Fyn. The digital solution is supported by the Danish Board of Business Development.
