Kajbjerg Skov - Havørred Fyn Hotspot nr. 28
After a wonderful and fresh walk through Kajbjerg Forest, you reach a couple of kilometers of perfect sea trout waters. Sandbars with deep "bathtubs" in between are intersected by small, treacherous mussel reefs.
It might be a bit of a walk to reach the coastline below Kajbjerg Forest – but don’t let that stop you. Behind the trees lies a sea trout paradise.
Here, smaller mussel reefs give way to dark seaweed belts, interrupted by sandbars and deep troughs. The stretch along Kajbjerg Forest truly has it all – and then some.
North and south of the forest, the seabed becomes more sandy with scattered dark patches. These are prime spots for trout, and they’re surprisingly easy to spot. Wade quickly and cast a few times into each defined seaweed zone you can reach. Each one may be hiding one or more sea trout, which often strike immediately if your lure or fly passes through the right spot.
