Performing arts exploring contemporary issues

Teater Momentum develops its own productions through two formats: Byens Stemmer and National Undersøgelse. Both begin with a central question, which is explored through research, encounters with real people and situations, artistic experimentation and collaboration.

Byens Stemmer focuses on Odense and the people, places and stories found in the city. A playwright or writer works with the material, gradually developing it into a new dramatic work. National Undersøgelse examines a contemporary issue from a broader Danish perspective, with a director or independent theatre company leading the artistic exploration.

Theatre, talks, concerts and more

At Teater Momentum, you can experience the theatre’s own productions alongside a changing programme of visiting performances, concerts, talks and other events. The programme covers everything from theatre and dance to poetry slam, making each visit a different experience.

The theatre works with new dramatic works and performance formats that explore contemporary topics. These may be local stories from Odense or issues relevant across Denmark. Each production takes shape through the artistic process and may combine different forms of expression and ways of working.

A theatre in central Odense

Teater Momentum is located in Ny Vestergade in central Odense. See the current production or choose from the other events in the programme. The doors open one hour before the performance begins, and for selected events you can order tapas with your theatre ticket.
