Arreskov Lake - Sollerup Wood

Discover Funen’s Largest Lake

Arreskov Sø is the largest lake on Funen, covering 317 hectares. Formed during the last Ice Age, the lake is surrounded by woodland, reed beds and wetland habitats rich in birdlife.   The shallow lake environment supports diverse wildlife and offers several viewpoints where visitors can enjoy sweeping views across the water.  

Hiking in Sollerup Skov

Sollerup Skov features varied terrain with both deciduous and coniferous woodland. The forest offers a network of trails through changing landscapes and peaceful surroundings.   One of the most distinctive areas is Helvedeshule, where the stream Rislebækken has shaped the landscape over time, creating dramatic slopes and unusual terrain.   Several small parking areas along Sollerupvej provide easy access to the forest.  

Sensory Trail

A newer attraction is the popular sensory trail, inviting visitors to explore nature barefoot.   Along the route, you will walk across different natural surfaces such as stones, pine cones and wood chips. The trail also includes a water crossing, creating a fun and memorable experience for visitors of all ages.   For the easiest access, park near the local dog forest and follow the path alongside the fenced area.

Adventure Trail for Children

Families can also explore the area's new adventure trail for children. Combining storytelling, nature and play, the route introduces young visitors to characters such as Nøkken and Ellepigen.

Mobile coverage may be limited in parts of the area. It is recommended to download a map before your visit or bring a printed version. Free maps are available from Faaborg Tourist Office.
