Bjørnhøj Strand (by Ristinge)
Bjørnhøj Strand on the west coast of Langeland is part of Ristinge Strand, with plenty of space and a dog licence.

Bjørnhøj Strand is the first part of the popular Ristinge Strand on the west coast of Langeland, facing Marstal Bay. This beautiful stretch of coastline stretches over 2 kilometres from Hesselbjerg Strand in the south to Ristinge Strand in the north and offers a unique nature experience.
Plenty of space and relaxed surroundings
Although Ristinge Strand is one of Langeland's most visited beaches, here - and at Bjørnhøj Strand - you'll find plenty of space with a kilometre-long stretch of coastline and a width of around 20 metres. Both the beach and the seabed consist of fine sand, and as the beach no longer has Blue Flag status, you are allowed to bring your dog and enjoy a day by the water.
Practical facilities and easy access
Bjørnhøj Beach is equipped with excellent practical facilities that make a trip to the beach easy and safe. Here you’ll find toilets with drinking water, disabled-friendly access, spacious car parks, a lifebuoy, a first-aid kit, litter bins, a bathing water warning system and an emergency telephone.
The beach’s access facilities are particularly well suited to people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users. During the bathing season, beach mats are laid right down to the water’s edge, making it easier for wheelchair users, pushchairs and walking frames to get close to the water.
Borrowing a bathing chair
At Bjørnhøj Beach, you can borrow a bathing chair. The chair is kept by the disabled toilet, where the door is unlocked. The loan is based on trust, so please remember to return the bathing chair after use so that it is ready for the next person to benefit from it.
Safety when bathing
Please note that there may be riptides along the coast - be aware of the bathing conditions and follow any safety instructions.
