Hotel Ærø

Hotel Ærø has been located by Svendborg Havn (harbour) since 1889 and forms part of the town’s historic harbour setting. Over the years, sailors and shipowners have visited the hotel, connecting its history closely with Svendborg’s maritime past. Its location in the historic town and beside the harbour reflects the role seafaring has played in Svendborg for generations.

The rooms are inspired by English colonial style, with wooden headboards, heavy curtains, patterned wallpaper and soft carpets. Some rooms overlook Svendborg harbour, while others face the hotel courtyard. Geraniums surround the small tables, and some rooms have balconies overlooking the courtyard.

Hotel Ærø also houses Restaurant Ærø, which serves traditional Danish dishes. The hotel, restaurant and historic harbour location bring together Svendborg’s town life and maritime heritage.
