Omakase at Goma: Discover Japanese dining in Odense with the chef in charge
What’s for dinner? At Goma, you don’t need to choose each dish in advance. The kitchen follows the Japanese concept of omakase, where you leave the selection of dishes to the chef. You decide how extensive you would like your meal to be, while the kitchen takes care of what goes on your plate.
The dishes are served one at a time as smaller, individual courses. Rather than a traditional starter and main course, you get to try a variety of dishes as the evening unfolds. You won’t know the full menu when you sit down, which is part of the experience.
The chef takes your preferences into account when planning your menu. If you have any questions about allergens, please ask the staff.
Japanese menus at Goma: Choose a menu to suit your appetite
Goma offers six menus of varying sizes. The first four start with snacks, followed by six, seven, eight or nine courses chosen by the chef. You can opt for a smaller menu or settle in for a few extra courses.
The two largest menus also include oysters and dessert, with eight or nine omakase courses in between. So your choice isn’t just about the number of courses, but also what’s included in your meal.
The menu also features wagyu with wasabi and dashi, along with a selection of desserts. These include sesame panna cotta served with brown butter/miso ice cream, caramel and figs. These dishes are listed separately and won’t necessarily feature in your omakase menu.
Wine pairings at Restaurant Goma: Leave the wine selection to the restaurant
If you would like the restaurant to choose your wines too, you can add a wine pairing to your meal. Goma offers pairings of three to six glasses, with recommendations for each food menu.
The restaurant recommends three glasses for the six- and seven-course menus, and more glasses for the larger menus. This allows you to choose a wine pairing that suits the size of your meal.
