Coastal trail Nordfyn
Now you can walk along the water between Skåstrup and Bogense Marina on North Funen's coastal path - enjoy a lovely walk and a simply impressive view!
North Funen's coastal trail: from coastal meadows to sand dunes – experience the entire shoreline up close
Nordfyn Coastal trail leads to the sea, nature and small coastal communities. The marked trail runs along the beach, on dikes and on coastal paths, and it has two stages of about 6.5 km between Skåstrup and Bogense Marina and about 30 km from Flyvesandet to Otterup Marina, making it easy to choose anything from short viewpoints to full hiking days.
Skåstrup Beach
Shallow water, a long bathing jetty and green areas make Skåstrup a family friendly start or finish, with Blue Flag in season.
Bogense and the Green Meadows
Between town and coast, Vestre Enge (the Western Meadows) unfolds as Bogense’s green heart with paths, birdlife and views across former meadowlands. Walking the old dike and the shoreline gives vistas with Vestre Enge on one side and the Kattegat on the other. The stage ends at Bogense Marina with ice cream, drinks, seating and several playgrounds.
Flyvesandet
North Funen’s northern coast features Fyn’s rare sand dunes, shallow child friendly waters, big horizons and a bird tower at Agernæs, also a good spot for nature photography and kitesurfing when conditions allow.
Bårdesø Beach
A quiet beach with green areas close to the coast, a good pause between Flyvesandet, Tørresø and Hasmark, with shopping at a nearby supermarket or a break at Café Rosengård.
Tørresø Beach
Child friendly sandy beach with shallow water, scope for surfing with own gear and fine conditions for coastal angling, always with a lovely view.
Hasmark Beach
Long, shallow sandy beach with a beach oasis, playground, tables and showers, with Blue Flag in season. The beach stretches for several kilometres from Jørgensø to Hofmansgave Beach. Contrary to what the names suggest it was not once full of lakes, the whole area lay under water with many islands such as Jørgens Ø, later reclaimed in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Hofmansgave Beach
A pleasant beach named after the manor of Hofmansgave, which also once sat on an island in Odense, family friendly and Blue Flag in season.
Enebærodde
The narrow spit at the entrance to Odense Fjord feels like walking on the water’s edge, with beach, heath and raw coastal nature, a quiet choice for longer stretches with open horizons and often views to both the fjord and the Kattegat.
The car free loop around the spit is about 12 km.
Practical info along the route
Follow the blue signs with the walking figure, the path runs partly on former seabed and along historic dikes, with changing views of the Kattegat, woodland, coastal meadows and small harbour settings.
In several places there are connections to local Cloverleaf routes to explore further inland.
