Along the way, you’ll walk through varied landscapes with sea views, coastal woodlands, bridges, ferries and cosy places to stop off. On Langeland, you’ll reach Rudkøbing, where the old streets, harbour atmosphere and the island’s unique charm make the town a natural stop on the trip.

What’s included in the price

The price covers accommodation in a shared double room, breakfast, ferry tickets between the islands, luggage transport, the walking programme, route descriptions, walking maps, the option to print your own maps, access to the Vagabond Tours app, an on-call service during the trip and the fee for the Travel Guarantee Fund. This means you only need to carry a small day rucksack with everything you’ll need during the day. Your luggage will be transported to the next accommodation whilst you follow the route on foot.

Here you’ll find the route, navigation, distances, elevation gain, accommodation, sights, shopping options and points of natural interest along the way. The app also works offline, so you aren’t dependent on Wi-Fi whilst on the move. Each participant receives personal access to the app before the trip begins.

When the route takes you across Langeland, Rudkøbing is a charming place to explore. It is Langeland’s largest town and boasts an old market-town atmosphere with well-preserved merchant’s houses and winding cobbled streets. Nearby, you can explore the harbour, the town centre, arts and crafts, galleries and scenic walks along Rudkøbing Vejle. Langeland forms part of the UNESCO Global Geopark ‘The South Funen Archipelago’, and the Archipelago Trail gives you a wonderful sense of the interplay between the coast, the islands, the ice-age landscape and vibrant local communities.

This is an independent walking holiday, where you follow the route yourself using maps, route descriptions and the Vagabond Tours app. The trip starts and ends in Svendborg, which can be reached by public transport or by car. On Langeland, there may be sections featuring nature trails, gravel paths, bridges and ordinary roads; the trip is therefore best suited to visitors who are able to walk longer daily stages.
