Art Tower 11 on Langeland – SortSol at a glance

A tower full of fluttering freedom

In the middle of Langeland, near Tryggelev, a special work of art awaits in the tall, narrow tower room on Kinderballevej. Here, artist Per Buk has painted his signature figure – the black bird – directly onto the walls. The work, entitled SortSol, invites physical interaction: stand in the middle, turn around and step out into the light – you may see the sky with new eyes. An experience that sets your body and senses in motion.

About the artist Per Buk

Per Buk lives in Kædeby and has a gallery in Humble, where the bird is a recurring motif in his works – in paintings, ceramics and sculptures alike. For him, the bird is a symbol of freedom and daring to cross boundaries. Ceramics have taken a prominent place in his artistic universe, and with Per Buk, even a bowl rarely becomes just a bowl – he lets his hands take the lead and surprises arise in the process.

Art and community on Langeland

Per Buk moved from Svendborg to Langeland precisely because of the strong community among the island's artists. He finds that the artistic life here is characterised by an openness and willingness to collaborate that creates something special – both for those who create and those who visit.
